Incorporated in 1977 by founder
and mathematics graduate Ned H. Shiflett (1924-2004), the
business started operations in 1981. IHI produced hydraulic drilling and
tapping self-feeder units and built special machinery for a variety of
industrial customers. Using his prior experience in the electrical
connector industry, Mr. Shiflett quickly established
the Company as a custom machining house for electrical connectors. Having
grown considerably since its first year of operations, IHI
Connectors (TM) is now a valuable partnership resource for customers
requiring service and quality in a very competitively priced market
sector. The Company operates in 32,000 square feet and 50 employees.
Charles Ridley joined the Company
in 1993 and became Mr. Shiflett's partner in
1996. Bringing with him a BSME and a background in machine tools,
manufacturing and sales, IHI Connectors (R) is able to
continue its thrust into advance technology special machinery to serve its
connector customers unusually well. Mr. Shiflett
retired in 2002 and IHI became a 100% employee owned company (ESOP).
